'Window to Sea’ presents images of the sea created through a collaboration between me, seawater, and sunlight.
I use cyanotype in my artistic practice to create photographic images of water. These are produced through direct contact between water, sunlight, and the emulsion on the support material. The result can never be fully predicted; conscious decisions are made regarding processes that cannot be entirely controlled. The unknown is part of the work – not a disruption, but a potential.
Cyanotype is an analogue photographic process that requires no camera, darkroom, or toxic chemicals, making it accessible to the wider public and more resource-efficient than other photographic processes.
